Archive: January 2014

In January 2014, an event of more than questionable historical importance took place: I taught my first yoga class.

The most surprising part is that photographic evidence exists. Thank you, Cristiana, for immortalising the moment.

That class was the seed of everything that came after. If Yoga Grund Málaga exists today, in a way it started there, in a room full of familiar faces and far more enthusiasm than experience.

Thanks to my sister, my brother-in-law, my nieces and my friends for volunteering for that experiment. Or for not finding a convincing excuse to get out of it.

January 2014 — the album

Students leaning on chairs, one arm raised, in the first adapted yoga class
A girl smiling next to two women with their arms outstretched in class
Four people in downward-facing dog on mats
A group sitting on the floor with hands raised, smiling
Three women lying face down with their arms stretched back
Three women in locust pose, legs raised
A teenage girl sitting and watching a child doing a shoulder stand
A group lying on the floor in relaxation pose at the end of class
Two men in cobra pose, backs arched
Four people sitting, chatting and laughing before class
A woman and a man seated in a spinal twist
A man balancing on his arms in crow pose
A woman and a man in a forward fold, head to head
A teenage girl sitting in lotus pose with her eyes closed
A girl in cobra pose looking upward
